PHAN DANG LUU MEMORIAL HOUSE - YEN THANH DISTRICT

Comrade Phan Dang Luu is one of the outstanding predecessors of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution during the period 1930 - 1940. He was born on May 5, 1902 into a well-off Confucian family with a patriotic and studious tradition. From a young age, Phan Dang Luu showed his intelligence, was studious, and was soon enlightened to the revolution, and then, from a patriotic intellectual, he became an outstanding revolutionary predecessor of the Party.

Phan Dang Luu was shot by the French colonialists on August 26, 1941, at Ba Diem, Hoc Mon. In front of the enemy's guns, he still showed the brave mettle of the communists, becoming the symbol and pride of the people in the countryside rich in patriotic and revolutionary traditions.

The memorial house was formerly the home of comrade Phan Dang Luu's family. Through many variations of history, the house was divided among households. After 1975, the house and garden were respectively redeemed and restored, restored to almost the original state. After being classified as a national historical monument, the house continued to be renovated many times, now it is spacious.

The house consists of two storeys, built of lime mortar. In front of the house is a small yard. To the left is a well and a rainwater tank. In the main hall on the 1st floor, there is an altar, the inside is decorated with a bust of comrade Phan Dang Luu and utensils for burning incense during the ceremony. The left compartment placed two wooden cabinets, formerly used as a place to store books and documents of comrade Phan Dang Luu and his brothers. The right compartment hangs a certificate of recognition of the relic rating. Below the stairs is a wooden crate. This is the sleeping place of Phan Dang Luu when visiting family, the wooden crate is hollowed inside to store utensils.

On the 2nd floor, it is not made ceiling at the top to create a cool space for the house, the floor is made of plywood. The nave is the place to place the altar to the ancestors and parents of Comrade Phan Dang Luu.

The Memorial House is not only associated with the life and career of Comrade Phan Dang Luu, but also a meeting place for officials and party members of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Here, the Tan Viet sub-group was born in 1927, where documents were hidden and held cultural classes of the Tan Viet sub-group in the period 1927 - 1928. This is also the center of the Soviet government's activities in the Eastern Village, the place where people gathered to protest and the first place to learn the national language of the People in the Soviet movement.

The house has become a priceless souvenir, a place associated with a noble personality, an excellent predecessor of the Party, honoring the homeland. Every year, many festivals are held at the memorial house with the participation of authorities at all levels and a large number of people and descendants of the Phan family-clan, in order to pay tribute and remember the great merits of comrade Phan Dang Luu with the Vietnamese revolution.
