MILITARY REGION IV’S MUSEUM
Military Zone 4's Museum was established on 22 December 1966, the time of the war of resistance against the US was full of bombs and bullets. Military Zone 4's Museum is a place to store and preserve documents and artifacts of historical and cultural value, which clearly reflects the whole journey of construction, combat and growth of Military Zone 4's armed forces in the cause of national liberation and reunification.
Over 55 years of construction and growth, the unit gradually collects, preserves and displays more than 28,000 artifacts, pictures and documents, including many unique artifacts, contributing to vividly reproduce the typical historical and military values of the land and people here. In particular, here on 15 June 1957, President Ho Chi Minh visited and talked with officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Military Zone 4 on the occasion of his return to his hometown after 50 years of separation. The museum has an area of 13,000m2 divided into 03 exhibition areas:
- Area I - Exterior exhibition space: Including the statue of Uncle Ho in the center (recognized as a provincial historical and cultural relic in 2013) along with traditional patriotic sculptures and glorious feats of military and militia of Military Zone 4 with green campus, flower garden and rare large block objects.
- Area II - Main exhibition hall with an area of 2,800m2: Exhibiting over 20,000 artifacts, images and documents, recreating typical events of the heroic years that took place on the land of Military Zone 4 through 06 display items. The exhibition space is structured to form a continuous flow, combined with different artistic techniques and many rare artifacts and images, making it easy for visitors to identify from the overview content to typical, attractive and engaging events.
- Area III - Monument and display of martyrs' relics: This is the only point only available at Military Zone 4's Museum with an area of 320m2, the work is designed in two parts: Memorial space and exhibition space, introducing more than 2,000 relics such as utensils, belongings, appliances, military equipment, weapons ... of the martyrs have been collected and preserved by the Museum. Through those relics, many martyrs have verified their names, ages and units; Many families, relatives and comrades found information on martyrs' graves. Martyrs Relics Memorial and Display Hall has become a destination for a large number of officers, soldiers, compatriots across the country and foreign visitors.
