VINH ORANGE FESTIVAL

Nghe An is the province with the largest area in the country with plentiful & diverse natural resources, high biodiversity, diverse climates, rivers and soils, which have produced many specialty trees and animals, many traditional products exist and develop for a long time. Many products have become famous brands, but first of all, it is the specialty of Vinh oranges - juicy, sweet oranges with a distinctive flavor that anyone who has ever tasted it, can feel it.

The festival aims to honor the land of talented people in Nghe An; honor Vinh orange specialty. In particular, reappearance in the festival is the journey of Vinh orange, from orange production process to consumption stage in retail systems, then being upgraded.

Up to now, Vinh orange have been established geographical indications in 73 communes in 11 districts. Orange growing area has increased rapidly, currently reaching over 5,500 hectares, of which more than 3,300 hectares of oranges have been harvested, the output is over 52,000 tons/year; planning to 2020, the province's orange area will reach over 8,000 hectares, the output will reach over 160,000 tons/year. Vinh orange has become a national property protected by the State in nationwide, this is one of the typical achievements of the agricultural sector of Nghe An province.

Currently, Vinh orange have been determined as one of the key crops of the province with the goal of not only developing into a commodity product with high economic efficiency but also being preserved and promoted value as a cultural product of province.
