LUONG SON COMMUNAL HOUSE – DO LUONG DISTRICT

Luong Son communal house, which was built in the Late Le Dynasty (1852), is located in Bac Son commune, Do Luong district, Nghe An province.

Luong Son village belongs to Dang Son commune, Anh Son district (former), in the 20s of the twentieth century, revolutionary activists chose this place as a base to build the basis of activities to propagate and enlighten the people about revolutionary ideas. Since 1925, Luong Son village had been the place where officials from the Central Committee and the Party Committee have led the movement. At the same time, this place was also chosen as a place to print and distribute documents and leaflets of the Party.In September 1929, when the Indochinese Communist Party cell was established, a branch of Indochina Communist Party was also established in Luong Son village.

Luong Son communal house is one of the large-scale communal houses with high artistic carvings. This is one of the important places, greatly contributing to the revolutionary movement of Luong Son village.

The communal house was the contact point of the Party during the secret period, the place where the first Indochinese Communist Party cell was established, where the masses gathered to fight for tax reduction. This was also the witness to the event of 7 revolutionary soldiers (Bui The Thuan, Vo Van Thon, Bui The Thuc, Dang Duy Lien, Bui Van Nanh, Hoang Ba Bien and Hoang Ba Ben) of Luong Son Village was killed by the French colonialists and their henchmen in April 1931.

 Currently, there is a stele in front of the communal house, it was erected by the Party Committee and people of Bac Son commune in the 50s of the twentieth century, to remember a historical event of the revolutionary struggle of the people of Luong Son village in the Nghe Tinh Soviet climax from 1930 to 1931.

With these great historical values, in 1990, the communal house was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic, a red address for educating revolutionary and patriotic spirit for the future generations.
